Hot water is sufficient to clean the retainer. However, if the wound is still bleeding and not healed you have to sterilize the retainer by using hot boiling water. Sterilizing process is super easy, Take a bowel and fill it with small amount of warm water. Put the retainer in the warm water and start to pour the boiling water in the bowel slowly until the water in the bowel becomes hot. Wait for 1 minutes until the retainer becomes hot. Now pour and fill the bowel with all the boiling water. Wait for 2 minutes then empty the bowel. Your retainer is now sterilized.

Using alcohol will gradually affects and damaged the silicone material. Try to sterilize your retainer with boiling water. It is safer, efficient, and budget friendly.
